An algorithm powered game with a rugby legend.

 

CHALLENGE
Each year HSBC brings the Rugby 7s to Singapore. In 2019, the bank wanted a memorable way to welcome guests to the VIP area of the event.

SOLUTION
Partnering with rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll, we created an AR kicking game. Brian acted as our ‘digital’ coach challenging players to take kicks on goal. A clever algorithm responded to the speed and direction of a player’s kick helping Brian deliver personal coaching tips. Pre-recorded messages meant players received a different coaching tip every time they played.
